@Nicki - Thanks Nicki! I’m honored that you thought of me! :-)

@AlyiceEdrich - For me the reason to not buy one-time rights to articles is that I’m committed to beginning to only have original content on FreelanceMom. For Search Engine Optimization purposes its really important to have content on your site that isn’t duplicated in many other places… but beyond that - I think it’s the best thing that I can offer to my visitors so I really want to move in this direction. Thanks for your thoughts - I welcome more!

@Sabac - Hi… Yeah, I agree. I think quality is lost with a ghost writer - I’ve never used one and don’t really think it’s fair to the writer. That’s why I am hoping to partner with colleagues in my niche that want to write some original content in exchange for more exposure. I’m not really interested in the PLR articles for the same reason that I mentioned above. Sure, it’s a little better then simply getting free content from an article directory - but in the end it isn’t completely original. And if I had time to re-write PLR articles I might as well write my own… but that’s just me and where I am at with the development of FreelanceMom right now. I know that’s not the best for everyone! Thanks for visiting :-)

Perhaps you can find a ghost writer even in a cheap price but quality is something which would be sacrificed. I think using PLR articles is much much better.

Instead of paying out $15 for an article, and taking all rights. Why not just pay $15 for an article for one-time rights and the right to archive indefinitely. You can also request that the article not be resold to another online market for a period of 30 days from date of publication.

You'll get more serious writers. The quality will be a bit better. And the writers will have the option to sell their work elsewhere, which is often off line because most publications still aren't ready for the same content online.

Also, I nominated your blog for an award. Check it out at http://nickisnook.net/2008/12/19/an-award/
