What do you really want for your children?
April 3rd, 2007

I was tremendously moved this morning by a post over at The Thinking Mother. Christine took the time to come up with an amazing list of hopes and dreams she has for her children.
Some of my favorites…
Able to feel joy and happiness
Have a balance of obligation and free choice in their lives
Possess a lack of fear of being judged by others
Able to look back on their lives without regrets
The truth is, these are really the things all Mothers want for their children, all around the world. The altruistic love of a Mother is the most precious thing I know. Thanks Christine for the terrific post and for reminding us all of the bigger picture.
I thought I would write my own list - but you know what? Yours is so amazing I’m printing it out and putting it where I can reflect on it often.

Oh thank you so much for saying such nice things about my blog post.
It is an emotional week with my grandmother being hospitalized. I wrote that list very quickly while sitting at my computer yesterday morning. I didn’t know if anyone would read it or care about what I wrote, I just wrote it off the top of my head and posted it immedately.
Have a great day.

Christine - you’re more then welcome. I’m sorry to hear about your Grandmother. I know how hard that is. It’s true - we really appreciate how fragile and precious life is when we face things like this. I wish you the best.
