Embrace your competition!
August 2nd, 2007
If you have competition - that likely means you’ve got a market for your product or services. That’s good news!
Healthy competition can push you to do your absolute best. Take a look at your competitors often and ask yourself how you can do better. What could you give to your website visitors or your customers to sweeten the deal? Where are your strong points and weak points?
At the same time, consider finding ways to partner or network with your competition. Get out of scarcity mind and realize that there is enough business to go around and then some! Having friends in your niche means that you have trusted sources you can refer overflow work to or receive overflow work from!
You might also find ways to cross promote with your competition that is mutually beneficial. This can be as simple as linking to eachother’s websites or something greater like creating an info product together.
Appreciate and learn from your competition. Good role models help us to achieve our business dreams!

Very True…Competition is good and one should not get discouraged by it. Its extremely rare to have a product without any competition. Even if you had no competition when you started out, there will soon be other players in the market…
There is a lot we can learn from our competitors and the universe is big enough for all of us.

I think that competition can help make both of you sharper and better at what you do. If you handle the relationship with your competition correctly, you may find an ally in them.

LOL. Everyone is my competition then because I hardly get any traffic but you know what that’s ok because I just like to blog about whatever floats my boat.

Great post.
Superior marketing skills, improved closing ratios and joint collboration evolves from competition.
As Sandy appropriately noted, there is also enough room for all.
Competition should not breed fear.
Cheers
Maria
