Hello Moms!
Happy New Year! I'm so excited about 2007. So many of the women I have met through FreelanceMom have really made leaps and bounds in their business goals - I just know this year we are all going to see significant profits!
This morning I called my mortgage company to make a payment. I was so floored when the customer support representative on the phone said, "Hi Lori, how can I exceed your expectations today?" Wow! EXCEED my expectations? That really set us up for an excellent conversation, didn't it?
I immediately adopted that attitude for my own work with clients and customers of clients. How can I exceed their expectations? How can I exceed my own expectations? How can I bring my business to the next level?
Setting the tone for the New Year with such a powerful, altruistic and positive ambition will definitely pave the road to success. I wanted to share that with you so that you can adapt it to whatever type of business you own. I wish you ultimate success in 2007!
P.S. What's on your mind? If you have something specific you'd like to see (or not see!) in the next FreelanceMom News - reply to this email and let me know! Your time is precious and I want to be sure I'm not wasting it!
Would you like 24 hours of Peace and Quiet? :-)

HOME BUSINESS TIP
Get Dressed!
That's right! Get up and the morning, get showered and dressed. When we first leave our corporate jobs behind to work from home - it seems like a fringe benefit to get lazy about our appearance.
But as business gets steady -- we need to be at our professional best while we're working more then ever. And part of being professional is being dressed and cleaned! Sure our clients or customers may never know that we're in our slippers, but we know it. And subconsciously it begins to effect how we view our work as well.
So trust me, get up and get dressed like you're heading to the office and your day will be far more productive. Plus your kids will think they've got one pretty Mommy!

SEO Basics - Good Link, Bad Link
Your link profile is potentially the most powerful aspect of your SEO efforts, especially in the eyes of Google. Quality counts over quantity, but it is important to get a good list of well-balanced links pointing to your site. Diversification really is the key. Try not to concentrate all of your efforts on gaining links from one source, and similarly try not to gain them using a single method. A number of tactics should be avoided wherever possible because they either offer you no benefit whatsoever or your page may be penalized.
