I am so thrilled to be here welcoming the New Year
with all of you. The thought of women networking their skills and
inspirations together for the common goal of pursuing our career
ambitions while working from home delights me. If you are new to
FreelanceMom I would like to warmly welcome you to the community. I
genuinely hope that you find exactly what you are looking for and

Many women coming to our site wish that they could
work from home and sincerely don't know yet what it is that they
would like to pursue. If I could share a piece of my heart with
those women I would say this: Be confident, look in your heart, and
do what you love. Whatever it is that you are good at, or WANT to be
good at -- that is what will bring you success.
For women who have successfully established their home
business - Congratulations! Even if your business isn't to the level
you envision yet -- you have made the leap. Not only will you be
there to watch your children grow, which they do FAR too quickly!
But you will be a role model to them. You are showing your children
that it is possible to follow your heart. It is possible to take
chances and do what you believe in. That is truly valuable.
And the message that they will always carry with them,
that you cared so deeply about being a full-time Mother that you and
your partner were willing to take risks. To go without some material
comforts from time-to-time was nothing when measured to the
experience of hearing their first attempt at a word, seeing their
first steps, being there to help with their homework, to cook them a
meal. Being there.
I sincerely hope the New Year brings all of your
career ambitions to fruition, and that it also brings you the
freedom to be active in your children's lives.

The beginning of a new year is always a good
time to sit down and reflect upon past endeavors and make
plans for the future. Be it short term or long term goals, now
is a good time to make your plans.
Many WAHMs out there are busy (when aren't we
busy) setting ideas to paper as they begin a fresh, new year.
However, many resolutions that will be made will be doomed to
fail, simply because of the career path we have chosen, so I
resolve this year to keep my fellow WAHMs from disappointment.

How forum member and moderator 'rhondab' works from home helping local
realtors!
Many realtors like to
have a "personal assistant" who will make their brochures for
the homes they have listed (they can be created in a word
processor and converted to pdf and then emailed to the
realtor, or hard copies printed & mailed).
If you have (and are fairly good at it) a
digital camera and can go and take photos of homes that
realtors have listed, many times the realtors don't have (or
take) the time to do the photos themselves.
