I
don't know about you, but Spring is moving at lightning speed
in my home office! It seems like clients and gigs are pouring
into my lap effortlessly. When I think about the obstacles
and self-doubt I faced when first considering working from
home happen, I have to smile. I had NO idea what I was getting
into!
Several
FreelanceMom community members have been asking me how they
can become a virtual assistant. Where do they start and what
skills do they need to have? I am very interested in pursuing
this topic in depth here at FreelanceMom. We have several
articles
on the site already that give some good information and also
have a forum topic set up specifically for discussions on
Virtual
Assistants. If you have questions or interests in putting
your administrative computer skills to work for you, feel
welcome to join our discussions there.
I'd
like to really dig into the topic and discuss what clients
are looking for in a Virtual Assistant, what the going rates
are, and how to find work.
If
you are an experienced VA, please consider joining us in the
outsourcing
forum. It is a brand new spot for us to share overflow
work with eachother. I can't tell you how many times I have
yearned for a trusted colleague to help me meet a deadline!
I offer this forum in that spirit.
For
more formal work offers we have the Help
Wanted forum. It has been exciting to witness the growth
of this forum and the interest of entrepreneurs seeking to
find virtual help through FreelanceMom.com's membership. I
have been very pleased to see several women awarded work through
our site this past month.
On
a different note, I'm really excited to introduce the FreelanceMom
Blog! For those of you who are new to blogging, it's a
form of journaling online. I am looking forward to developing
the FreelanceMom Blog as it's a bit less formal place then
the website to express thoughts and explore ideas about working
from home. Please feel welcome to leave your thoughts and
comments.
As
always, I genuinely wish each of you overwhelming success
with your business endeavours!
P.S.
We are always looking for your feedback, contributions and
suggestions... please feel welcome to submit
your articles and ideas for inclusion in our FreelanceMom
community.
WAHM
TIP
When
you land your first Freelance gig, oftentimes there
is tremendous opportunity for it to evolve into a long-term
client relationship.
Consider the first project you get from a client your
ultimate chance to gain ongoing work.
Work
as efficiently as possible, give them a terrific deal.
Communicate at least once a day, reporting on how the
project is going and follow up a few days after you
pass it in to be sure they were satisified with the
end result.
Extra
effort now will pay for itself!

The
Magic of Keep-in-Touch Marketing
By, Nancy
Jackson
Yesterday I received a phone call
from an acquaintance that Ive met once or twice but
havent seen in over a year. She wanted to let me know
that she was referring me to a client of hers who needed help
with his Web site copy. Although I hadnt thought about
her in months, she mentioned that shed received a postcard
from me for the past two quarters and thats why
she instantly thought of my services when her client voiced
his need. Although it wasnt really magic, it sure felt
like it. Thats the magic of keep-in-touch marketing
people remember you and feel like they know you, and
eventually, they often give you business or refer others to
you.
Want
to develop some keep-in-touch magic of your own?
Its easy. Youve probably got a number of names
in your contact database, but when was the last time they
heard from you? If youre like many business owners or
marketers, you spend more time looking for new business than
keeping in touch with your current and former clients. But
nurturing the relationships you already have is crucial to
growing a successful business. And finding a way to keep in
touch with those contacts on a regular basis is integral for
keeping yourself and your business on their minds.

of 'GET RICH' Programs are SCAMS. Do you know the Signs?
By, Eddie
Pennington
If you're looking to make a legitimate
income online, then you have to read this because there
really are ways to make money on the world wide web. The
problem is sorting out the scams from the genuine money-making
opportunities. We've spent 18 months picking apart a hundred
work at home programs and recording data and numbers. What
we discovered was appalling!
There
are many 'writers' online that simply aim to capitalize
off the dreams of people like you. Many times we could not
reach these 'writers' via email, fax, or phone to obtain
the refund they had promised on their sales page. That is
why this site was conceived. We are here to help as many
people as we can find the TRUEST, and most successful Online
money-making businesses. Read More...
