How To Create Freedom in Your Business and Life
By Aimee Yawnick
Let's face it it's down right exhausting trying to hold it
all together. Pretending like you've got it going on when
the reality is, you could fall apart at any time. Dressing
the part, acting the part, even preparing for the part can
be a job in and of itself.
When you are building a business and you want to be taken
seriously and appear to know what you are doing, yet you are
struggling with everyday obstacles that are very real for
you, and feeling like a fraud, what's a girl to do?
I know what I did. I just faked it. I pretended everything
was fine and dandy and I successfully created the illusion
that I "had it all together". The problem was, on an
energetic level I was beating myself down. It was exhausting
to keep up the facade. Playing the role of successful
business owner and then being the scared woman wondering
where her next client was coming from.
When I learned how to successfully create a business and
life without all this drama, I was liberated to bring forth
all my authentic brilliance, which aligned me to attract an
abundance of amazing clients, meaningful relationships and
wise mentors who have helped me to fill my bucket with good
fortune.
I want to share with you how I did that.
But I need to say that you may not believe me at first. I
challenge you to challenge your beliefs and the way you've
been doing things, and check in with yourself. On a deep
level, go inside and ask how what you are doing now is
working for you?
I don't want you to change what you're doing and do what I
did, unless of course it makes sense to you. I want you to
learn how to challenge the way things are done and if they
don't feel right to you, find something different that does.
For way too long I stayed in the box of "how things are
done" and "this is how it works" and I struggled to make my
business grow. Now I do things differently, and I am
blissfully happy with the trajectory of my business and my
life.
I want that for you too!
Here's what I did . . .
Your Personal Development Assignment
1. Get clear about what isn't working ~ sit down with your
journal and start writing. Make a list of everything that
feels out of alignment with who you are and what you want
for your business. Then write down what about that FEELS
wrong. (For me I was told not to limit myself to only
working with women. Guess what? I only want to work with
women! I felt constricted, bullied and controlled. I was
unconfident and unmotivated to network and my message was
messy.)
2. Have a conversation with your Inner Wisdom ~ grab that
journal again and with two different colored pens start a
conversation with your Inner Wisdom and ask her for some
guidance. Ask for the next best step that will take you
closer to your goal. You DO have the answers inside you. You
MUST believe that though. (During a conversation like this I
realized that marketing to men was completely out of
alignment with what I wanted for my biz.)
3. Acknowledge that what you have been doing isn't working
and be OK with that! Forgive yourself for being seduced by
information overload and decide to create something new that
works for you. (As soon as I declared I only work with women,
my confidence skyrocketed and my message became crystal
clear.)
4. Who cares what "they" think! ~ I'll let the late great Dr
Seuss sum this one up, "Be who you are and say what you feel
because those who mind don't matter and those who matter
don't mind."
5. Get a mentor who can help show you the way ~ find someone
who is a few steps ahead of you who can shorten your learning
curve and provide you with practical tools that will help you
achieve your goals in your authentic, heart centered way.
Make sure she follows her heart too so she can be a model
for you as you grow.
One of the most valuable lessons I have learned on this
journey of fulfilling my purpose and sharing my blessing is
that I must follow my heart. Traditional business tactics
don't jive for me. My mind just doesn't work that way. And
just because an expert says, "this is the way it is because
this is how I did it" doesn't mean it's what works best for
MY business.
Start using your heart more when you make decisions about
your business and your life. You know what's best for you.
Question the experts and consider that you need not look
further than your own heart to find the next best step to
move you forward.
When you do this watch as the shackles fall away, and you
bust out of that box like a party girl out of a cake! You
will be liberated to create the most authentic, delicious,
fun, profitable, business you can imagine.
